Ebook
An ebook is a digital book you read on a phone, tablet, computer or compatible reading device. No printed copy is shipped. The product page tells you which files are included.
- PDF: preserves the page design, keeping the words and illustrations in place. Open it using a PDF reader.
- EPUB: a file made for ebook-reading apps. Some EPUBs let you adjust the text size and layout. Fixed-layout EPUBs preserve the page design and need an app that supports that format.
A larger screen can make illustrated books easier to enjoy together. Check file compatibility with your device or reading app before buying.
How ebook downloads work
- Choose the ebook option and complete your purchase.
- After successful payment, look for an email containing your download link.
- Download the files. If they come in a ZIP, open or extract the ZIP to access the books inside.
- Open the PDF in a PDF reader or import the EPUB into a compatible ebook app. Save a copy for future reading.
If the download email does not arrive, check your spam or junk folder. For help, contact us with your order number and the email address used at checkout.
Softcover
A printed book with a flexible cover, also called a paperback. It is usually lighter and more flexible than a hardcover, making it convenient to carry and read together.
Hardcover
A printed book with a rigid outer cover and ordinary paper pages inside. The cover helps protect the book, while the pages remain thin and flexible.
Board book
A printed book with thick, sturdy board pages throughout. These pages are easier for small hands to turn and more resistant to tearing than ordinary paper pages, making board books a popular choice for babies and toddlers.
The key difference is the pages: a hardcover has a hard outer cover with paper pages, while a board book has thick board pages inside too. Check each listing for the edition’s materials, dimensions and age guidance.
